Former RCB all-rounder Liam Livingstone blind ranked his all-time favourite T20I batters after the end of the 2026 IPL season via Stick to Cricket's social media handle. The England cricketer was asked to simply rank his top five from best to worst on the names appearing back to back without knowing who was next. Livingstone easily went with Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers with confidence, assigning them two top spots, but fans were stunned when he placed his former teammate Virat Kohli at the fourth spot and didnโ€™t even change the positions when asked.

With Chris Gayleโ€™s name appearing first, Liam Livingstone, without a second thought, allocated the first spot to the Universe Boss. With over 14,500 T20 runs, 22 centuries, and more than 1,000 sixes in his career, no doubt he would gain the top three spot. โ€œChris Gayle has to be No.1,โ€ he said. Then appeared the name of AB De Villiers, another RCB and Proteas legend and Liam was quick to rank him at the second spot. "I know he is coming nextโ€ฆ Straight in at number two,โ€ said the Englishman. Liam put his National teammate Jos Buttler next at third spot, saying, โ€œJos is going to kill me here. I'll go with Jos at three.โ€ Across all T20 formats, Buttler has amassed over 13,000 runs, including 8 centuries and more than 93 half-centuries, being an absolutely destructive batsman.

Liam Livingstone ranking Virat Kohli in fourth spot stuns fans

When it comes to any format of the game in cricket, Virat Kohliโ€™s name and performance speak for himself. For years, he has acted as a knight in shining armour, donning the Indian jersey and then ultimately leading RCB to two back-to-back IPL trophies after a drought and denial for years. Kohli, renowned as a chase master, has numbers that can put any batsman to shame. He amassed 4,188 runs in 125 T20I matches at an astonishing average of 48.70.

When Virat Kohliโ€™s name arrived, Liam reluctantly put him at the fourth spot and then followed him by keeping David Warner at the last spot. After completing the task, Liam Livingston was asked whether he wanted to change anything in his list. The England all-rounder stood firmly by his choices, declaring that Gayle and De Villiers were two batsmen who had the most impact in their careers in the matches they played, so definitely they deserved the top two.

He said, โ€œYeah, I reckon Gayle and AB. AB was probably... I think Gayle was the best, but AB did it in the middle order, which is harder, but I reckon I'd quite fancy having both of them in my team.โ€

Fans were stunned to see Cricket great Virat Kohli lingering behind at four in the rankings.
