Portugal football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be the executive producer and star in the scripted television drama Day 1s, based on the world of British football. The 41-year-old will feature in the series, which follows the life of fictional top football agent Stanley Dalton, played by Damian Lewis. Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry is also expected to be involved.

As per reports from The Sun, filming has already begun at The Hive Stadium in northwest London, home of Barnet FC, where Thierry Henry was spotted on set. Along with serving as an executive producer, Ronaldo is also expected to appear in the series, marking his first credited role in a scripted production beyond advertising campaigns and video games.

British rapper Dave and actor Carlotta Banat are also rumoured to be part of the cast. While no broadcaster, streaming platform or release date has been confirmed, the project is expected to attract strong interest from streaming companies.

 

Cristiano Ronaldo expands beyond football with TV venture

The idea for Day 1s came from football agent Darren Dein, who represents Henry and is one of the show's executive producers. Rather than following real footballers, the drama focuses on Dalton and the inner workings of a leading football agency, offering a fictional look at the business side of the British game.

The series is being produced by UR•Marv Studios, the independent film company Ronaldo founded with Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn in April 2025. The duo have already produced and financed two action films together, with a third currently in development.This trims the repetition while keeping all the key details and reads more smoothly.

Earlier this year, Matthew Vaughn said, “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him.” Ronaldo added, “This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures.”

The television project is the latest example of Ronaldo expanding his portfolio beyond football while continuing his playing career. He remains one of the sport's biggest global figures, with more than one billion followers across social media platforms. He continues to captain Al-Nassr and represented Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring three goals during the tournament.
