Lucknow Super Giants made a lot of changes after a disappointing season in IPL 2024. They let go captain KL Rahul and went with plenty of new players in the Auction. Ahead of IPL 2025 they made the big moves as they brought Rishabh Pant for a record highest bid and also appointed him as the captain of the team. They brought the big players but unfortunately the season did not pan out as they would have liked and they failed to qualify once again for the playoffs. Coming into the IPL 2026 there will once again be the pressure of expectations from both fans and the owners of the Lucknow Super Giants side.
1.Rishabh Pant in the spotlight
Lucknow Super Giants captain, Rishabh Pant will be the biggest spotlight for LSG going into IPL 2026. Rishabh Pant is a wicket-keeper, batter and also the captain of LSG team. There will be plenty of pressure on him to perform well while also doing his other duties. He had a very difficult season in IPL 2025 where he completely failed with bat except the last game against RCB where he managed to score a century and he will be keen to start the season well coming into IPL 2026. He is currently out of the Indian white ball set up and he has another point to prove this season.
2. Stacked top order batting
Lucknow Super Giants have stacked their batting this season with plenty of top order batters. Aiden Markram, Mitch Marsh, Nicholas Pooran were the top three in the last season and now they have added Josh Inglis in the mix after picking him up in the Auction. There is also a possibility of playing all four overseas batters. If we add Rishabh Pant, Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad the batting has plenty of fire power.

3. Fast bowling Stocks
LSG have picked up plenty of fast bowlers in their squad from the auction. Mohammad Shami is the latest addition to the side and with plenty of fast bowlers in the squad it will be interesting to see how they plan the combinations. Overall, there will be plenty of expectations from the LSG side in this upcoming IPL 2026 edition.
