The Lucknow Super Giants have faced another batting collapse against the Gujarat Titans after having a strong start to the innings. The batters seemed to score some quick runs in the power play, but the wickets kept on falling. In a span of just 29 runs, the Lucknow Super Giants lost 3 big wickets. This could very well disrupt the batting rhythm of the side,e and the Gujarat Titans are looking good with the ball.
The X viewers expressed their disappointment with the approach of the LSG batters as they didn’t play the conditions well. Even though the modern-day game requires you to fire from ball one, you will have to play according to the conditions and set a fine total on board. Rishabh Pant was also criticised for his shot selection, as that was a nothing shot from the skipper.
Sorry to say, but Rishabh Pant has made himself look like a coward in white-ball cricket. It won’t be long before he goes unsold in the IPL if he continues batting like this

LSG team selection conondrum.Utilising only 3 overseas player and having batting issues.A player of caliber of Breetzke warming the bench.

LSG is again looking to Mukul Choudhary for a strong finish at the end, like in the previous game. Pooran still hasn't lit up this year's league with his batting. Pant needs to sacrifice the 3rd position and let Pooran bat there.#IPL2026#LSGvsGT#GTvsLSG

Wickets tumble after solid start as LSG’s 200-plus hopes take a hit
The Gujarat Titans skipper, Shubman Gill, had won the toss and elected to field first. The Lucknow Super Giants haven’t won a match in this season’s IPL while batting first, and they seemed all set to turn it around. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram haven’t been at their best this season as they haven’t been able to give good starts. Mitchell Marsh started his innings with a fine six off the first ball of Kagiso Rabada, and the next ball raced towards the fence for four. Kagiso Rabada dismissed Mitchell Marsh off a fuller ball, and Marsh hit it straight to Shubman Gill.
Then, Rishabh Pant walked out at number 3, and they needed their skipper to stay in the crease as long as possible. Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram managed to get a couple of boundaries and took their score to 45 off 4 overs. Then Rishabh Pant mistimed a ball straight in the air, and it was comfortably taken by Rahul Tewatia. From then, the LSG batters looked like they were losing their flow as Markram was dismissed shortly after. In the next over, Prasidh Krishna got the better of Ayush Badoni, and another key batter fell. Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad also had promising starts to their innings, but they couldn’t build on the start they got and were dismissed almost cheaply. This collapse could backfire on the LSG batting unit as they looked like they would cruise past a 200+ total, but as it stands, a huge total may be off the cards. The Lucknow Super Giants are currently at 120/6 after 20 overs.
The Lucknow Super Giants have used the option to bring in George Linde as the impact sub, as he can fire some quick boundaries down the order and help the batting unit set a good total. They still have Mukul Choudhary and George Linde at the crease, so the fans will remain hopeful that they can get to a strong total and secure the game for the side.
