Marizanne Kapp definitely happens to be among the most promising and prominent all rounders in women’s world cricket and has been that way for quite some time. Her tenacity, natural talent with both the ball and bat and the agile athletic powers in the field have often kept the Proteas women’s side in good stead. Especially in this current era for the Proteas women, where there’s neither the great Mignon du Preez or the amazing Lizelle Lee, a lot many times the hopes of the entire team’s batting come to rest on the great “Kappie”, as she’s lovingly called. And even in the recent Women’s T20 World Cup, the powerful right handed all rounder was in quite fine touch playing useful knocks against very promising teams like India.

Having said that, at the moment the fine and experienced all rounder is taking the crowds by a storm in England thanks to her all round prowess in the Women’s edition of the famed The Hundred league, which is the United Kingdom’s most promising and widely known franchise cricket tournament.
And recently, the confident South African did put up a strong and sensational show with the bat for her London Spirit side as she fired not one but 3 consecutive sixes on her way to a magisterial and quickfire half century.
In the 28th match of the ongoing tournament that took place at the famed Lord’s ground, Marizanne Kapp was full power and performance with the bat on her way to a timely and refreshing 57 unbeaten runs, an inning that came off just 28 odd deliveries. Striking 6 sixes against the Birmingham Phoenix side that had bowlers like Linsey Smith, Alana King and Fatima Sana, Kapp was powerful and impactful with the bat in equal measure.
Her three consecutive sixes with the bat did change the complexion of the London Spirit’s batting effort after big names such as Charlie Dean and Grace Harris failed to fire with the bat.
A powerful all round performance In reply, the Birmingham side were able to put up only 108 runs on the board, thus conceding the game to the London Spirit by 32 runs. Kapp herself bowled 15 deliveries for her side of which 9 were dot balls. She also claimed the useful wicket of Jemima Spence!
