After securing a glorious victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Mumbai Indians are set to play their next match against the Delhi Capitals in the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. MI won the match comfortably due to its stacked batting prowess but the bowlers had a hard time picking quick wickets during the first innings. Hardik Pandya the skipper, conceded 39 runs and picked up only one wicket and their most trusted bowler, Jasprit Bumrah conceded 35 runs in 4 overs and went wicketless. It was Shardul Thakur who picked 3 wickets and earned the Player of the Match for the team.

There were news of Mitchell Santner, Will Jacks and Jasprit Bumrah missing the practise session just before the match against the Purple team, but Jasprit Bumrah was a part of the squad playing the match on March 29. There was still no news of Santner and Jacks, as they were granted extended time off for personal reasons following their heavy involvement in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

However, the MI brigade who are still beaming with joy of the match’s victory are in for some good news as Mitchell Santner has joined the Mumbai Indians squad and would be available in the match against the Delhi Capitals on April 4. Will Jacks, however, remains unavailable and has yet to join the team. While head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed he would join "pretty soon," there is no official confirmation on his exact arrival date, and reports suggest it could take another week.

Will DC take revenge for the loss in 2025?

The Capitals will face the MI squad after a loss in the previous season which was a do-or die clash for both the teams. The loss also ended DC’s campaign for the 2025 title. Tilak Varma was the top scorer for MI with 59 off 33 balls. Karun Nair (DC) played a spectacular comeback innings of 89 off 40 balls, including 28 runs in a single powerplay over against Jasprit Bumrah. Karn Sharma (MI Impact Sub) changed the game with 3 wickets for 36 runs. MI clinched the game after a hat-trick of run-outs in the penultimate over while DC were chasing 206.
