India Under 19 side lost their two key batters in a space of three balls and find themselves in serious trouble. Pakistan Under 19 won the toss and opted to bowl first with their captain saying during the toss that they expect the moisture to help the pacers early on. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Aaron George opened the batting for India Under 19 and they got off a breezy start scoring 24/0 in the first three overs of the match, they continued to pile up runs and India U19 were 46/0 in seven overs and right on top with the momentum completely towards them.

Then the drama began in the eight over of the match when Mohammad Sayyam was bowling. In the third ball of the over, Vaibhav Suryavanshi went for a pull off a short ball and the fielder dropped the catch and they missed a run-out as well at the non-striker’s end. It did not end up costing them much as just in the next ball Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed with the wicket-keeper taking the catch. India Under 19 captain Ayush Mhatre came into bat at 3, and defended his first ball. In the last ball of the over, Mohammad Sayyam struck again as he dismissed Mhatre for a duck. India from 46/0 went to 47/2 in a single over and the tide turned towards Pakistan. Sayyam bowled an exceptional over and removed both key batters of India Under 19 side.

Things did not stop there as just in the first ball of next over, Abdul Subhan removed Aaron George to leave India 47/3. They had lost three wickets in a span of four balls and Pakistan Under 19s were right on top. However, India Under 19 recovered from that situation as Vedant Trivedi and Vihaan Malhotra have steadied the ship and stitched in a partnership of more than 40 and both batters are going strong as India Under 19 are 88/3. This is a crucial match for both sides, Pakistan need to win by a huge margin to qualify for the semis while India can still go through even if they lose this match by a small margin.
