A maiden over? That too against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in IPL 2026 would be like finding an oasis in dessert. But this actually happened in a game in IPL 2026. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mohsin Khan became the first bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to bowl a maiden over to young Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Mohsin achieved this milestone during an IPL 2026 match between LSG and RR. He bowled five dot balls to the aggressive and fearless Sooryavanshi and topped it off by taking his wicket on the final ball, turning it into a wicket-maiden.
Vaibhav as usual thrashed Prince Yadav for two fours in Rajasthan Royals’ second over and then playing three dot balls. The momentum shifted as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel was dismissed on consecutive deliveries in the third over. Mohsin was introduced in the attack in the fourth over as a tactical turn and it worked wonder for LSG. Vaibhav had no answers and kept defending finally getting beaten by Mohsin’s deliveries and on the final ball of the over, was caught out by Prince Yadav. A rare sight in the glorious stint of the youngster’s dream IPL season.
Remember the name Mohsin Khan — the only bowler in IPL history to bowl a maiden over and dismiss Vaibhav Suryawanshi in the same over. 👀🤯#IPL2026 #RRvsSRH #VaibhavSuryavanshi pic.twitter.com/HiwqPv9rq7
