The Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni has been declared match fit ahead of the clash against Gujarat Titans but he wasn’t interested in taking up another youngster’s chance. CSK has got into some sort of winning rhythm in the last couple of games, credit to their youngsters for stepping up. With MS Dhoni being declared match fit, there were speculations regarding who would get dropped from the starting squad. But Dhoni has expressed that he doesn’t want to disturb the winning combination of the team and that he is hesitant to take up the chance of a youngster in the squad.

With so many rumours regarding Dhoni’s retirement, this report would just add to the speculations as we all know how Dhoni is like. The former India captain doesn’t like the limelight and if he comes back into the squad, he would grab all the attention unnecessarily. The whole narrative of CSK’s games will be around Dhoni and the focus on the team performance would considerably reduce. CSK have got a decent chance of making it through to the next round if they can win a couple of games on the bounce. It wouldn’t be an easy task but they will make sure that no stone is left unturned.

Veteran opts to preserve winning combination as Chennai Super Kings build momentum with youth core

The Chennai Super Kings were looking in really bad shape at the start of the tournament as none of their players were able to perform well. They struggled in such a manner that their fortress of Chepauk was breached with ease. Sanju Samson began his Chennai career on a low note as he was dismissed for single digit scores for 3 times on the trot. Ayush Mhatre and Sarfaraz Khan were their only reliable batters in the middle order. They had sustained injuries as MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis were set to miss the initial matches. Their woes deepened even further when Khaleel Ahmed and Ayush Mhatre was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.

However, the Chennai Super Kings began their winning form with victories against Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. Sanju Samson has regained his form as he scored a century and there was an interesting stat associated with their winning form. Every time Sanju Samson crosses 10 runs, CSK would inevitably win the match. Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad have been in fabulous form as they ran riot over the Mumbai Indians. Anshul Kamboj has been among the leading wicket-takers in the season as well.

Things are indeed looking bright for the Chennai Super Kings as they have a powerful bowling unit and the might of Sanju Samson to go with it. They have 3 wins so far in the season and will be hoping to secure their fourth win against the Gujarat Titans.
