The Delhi Capitals pacer Lungisani Ngidi has posted on Instagram that everything is fine. Ngidi was taken out of the game against the Punjab Kings using an ambulance. It was a very difficult couple of moments for everybody in the ground as Ngidi was not looking good. In an attempt to take one of the wickets of the openers, Ngidi was back strolling and he ended up falling and hitting the back of his head. The physios rushed out in distress as it wasn’t looking good for him and then the play was halted for some time. Dushmantha Chameera came in place of Ngidi in the match and he could bowl 4 overs as well.
The Punjab Kings had pulled off a spectacular run chase against the Delhi Capitals but there was still an air of doubt regarding Ngidi. Both the teams coaches and players had rushed onto the field to know what had happened and it was deemed to be serious. This moment did have an impact in the game as the chance was missed Ngidi was one of their in-form bowlers. Chameera couldn’t fill his void as he would have liked to as he wasn’t threatening as much with the ball.

PBKS script historic chase despite KL Rahul’s fiery 152
KL Rahul pulled the rabbit out of the hat in the first innings of the game as he smashed 152 runs. The 220-run partnership between Nitish Rana and KL Rahul was even considered to be match-winning by the fans as it was unbelievable. The Punjab Kings had to chase down the total and if they did, it would be the highest chase in T20 cricket history. Shreyas Iyer and his men were unbeaten in the campaign and this would have posed as one of the bigger threats they have faced in their campaign so far.

Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya were absolutely dominant in the power play as they had crossed the 100-run mark and it was in the power play that Ngidi had suffered the injury. After the initial couple of wickets, they seemed like they were slowly losing their hold of the game. But then Shreyas Iyer played a captain’s knock and he ensured that his side crossed the line. The run-chase had some impactful cameos powered by Shashank Singh and Nehal Wadhera as well. The Punjab Kings won the game by 6 wickets and they extended their lead at the top.
