Namibia have announced a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, which begins in India and Sri Lanka this year. Gerhard Erasmus will lead Namibia’s side at the T20 global showpiece. This will be the Namibia's fourth consecutive appearance at the T20 World Cup.

Namibia qualified for the T20 World Cup after reaching the final of the Africa Region Qualifier tournament, where they lost to Zimbabwe in the final. Namibia won all three of its group-stage matches and beat Tanzania in the semi-final. In October last year, Namibia also beat South Africa in a one off T20I at home.

Gerhard Erasmus brings plenty of experience along with JJ Smit, Jan Frylink and Nicol Loftie Eaton. All of them are good with both bat and ball. Left arm pacer Ruben Trumpelmann will lead the pace attack and Brassell is another young pacer with a good start to his career. Ben Shikongo also will add depth to the pace department having played 40 T20Is.

The squad also has plenty of youngsters. Louren Steenkamp, top-order batter who has turned out in seven T20Is. Jan Balt has played just three ODIs and six T20Is. Dylan Leicher is another middle-order batter with five ODIs and 14 T20Is behind him.

Another big news for Namibia in the lead-up to the World Cup was the appointment of Kirsten who joined as a consultant with the men’s national team on December 7 last year to add value to their preparation for the T20 World Cup in February next year. Namibia are placed in Group A of the T20 World Cup competition, alongside India, Pakistan, the Netherlands and the USA.
