Sunrisers Hyderabad are playing their second IPL 2026 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The toss was won by the host team, and they chose to bowl their opponents in the first innings. The KKR bowling had already failed to defend a score of 221 against the Mumbai Indians on March 29, and even today, they did not live up to the mark.
The duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head fed on the KKR bowlers as they scored 84 runs at the end of the Powerplay, the most this season so far. Head scored 46 off 21 balls before getting out, while Sharma fell short of his half century by two runs. Skipper Ishan Kishan came in at number three and could manage 14 in 9 balls. Meanwhile, Henirich Klassen and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who struggled with finding form in the last match, ended up with 52 and 39, respectively.
Varun Chakravarthy conceded 25 runs in an over while bowling to Abhishek Sharma, and couldn’t manage to pick a wicket. Similarly, Sunil Narine had a disappointing show in terms of wickets on Thursday night. However, Blessing Muzarabani, who performed really well in the World Cup, went expensive in the innings and ended up with four wickets.
He is Finished: Netizens blast Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy for poor form against SRH
Netizens didn’t mince their words and brutally trolled KKR bowlers for their poor form against SRH on Thursday. While some came up with memes, others criticised the management for not buying quality bowlers at the auction. Here are a few reactions:
Varun getting found at when pitches are belters Go and work on fitness mate. With no proper revs and over spin, these are just throwdowns #IPL2026

Why is nobody talking about Varun Chakaravarthy ? He is literally getting belted by each and every batter these days. Where did all his mystery go ?🤔 pic.twitter.com/0WZ7wX9EDG
