
Indian Women's Test team on X (formerly, Twitter) received mixed reactions from the fans and viewers as the openers Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia were dismissed cheaply against England in historic One-Off Test at Lord's. Although they had also posted reactions of their hopes resting on their vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana, who was playing her 300th International match at the historic Lord's stadium.
Mandhana was hailed by fans and viewers as she scored her first Test half-century at the 'Home of Cricket' while facing the English bowlers. This was also Mandhana's second fastest fifty in a test where she took 50 balls to reach the milestone, the earlier being 51 balls fifty against Australia Women in Carrara in 2021.
As Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana stitched an innings, where they brought up the 100 runs for the team and Rodrigues was looking extremely comfortable she unfortunately was dismissed at the end of the 19th over by Issy Wong, as she walked back scoring only 35 runs. Netizens praised her efforts and called it an unlucky shot which led to her dismissal.
