A player who truly needs no introduction, Rohit Sharma is the star of Indian cricket and the heart of the Mumbai Indians legacy. Since joining the Mumbai Indians in 2011, he has etched his name into the history books by scripting some of the most glorious plots. Leading from the front, he guided MI to five IPL titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020), building a legacy defined by consistency and big-match temperament, and scoring 7000+ runs. Not only MI, but Rohit Sharma is loved by everyone on his team, thanks to his funny, jovial attitude.

Recently, Rohit completed his 15 years in MI. In a video posted by the official Insta account of the Mumbai Indians, Shardul Thakur is seen giving an emotional speech on Rohit’s whereabouts.

He said, “ Other than his cricketing abilities, he is just a great person off the field. He hasn’t even changed a bit from Day 1 and keeps being so jovial and down to earth.” He concluded the speech saying, “ Never let the child die in you, Ro”

‘Learned the art of leadership in MI, ' Rohit gives an emotional speech on 15 years of completion

To mark 15 years, the Mumbai Indians shared a video clip in which Rohit Sharma can be seen giving an emotional speech where he thanked the likes of Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Lasith Malinga, and the entire team management for their strong support.

"Thank you so much for making it so special. Thanks, Polly (Kieron Pollard), Hardik (Pandya), Surya (Suryakumar Yadav), Shardul (Thakur), Mali (Malinga), the coach, and also the rest of you all. Thank you so much. It couldn’t have been what it is for me without the effort of all of you guys. This is a very, very special team, very, very special franchise and very, very special people involved in this team," said Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma further added how important the collective was to win five IPL titles, emphasising the strong backing from the franchise owners was crucial for his growth as a captain.

“Yes, we won five trophies, but obviously we all know that it is not possible without the effort of the entire team who are involved in making this franchise so special. Akash (Ambani) is not here, Bhabhi is not here, but I sincerely want to thank them as well for you know putting that support behind me because their support obviously was very much needed at that point for me to grow as a captain, grow as a player in this franchise because I wouldn’t have learned the art of being a leader if it was not for this franchise," added Rohit Sharma.

He finally even thanked all his fans who have always supported him in thick and thin.
