Harsha Bhogle has hailed 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi as a special talent and a "gem" (or "Kohinoor") for Indian cricket, expressing amazement at his batting prowess, particularly his ability to strike the ball cleanly and show no fear against top bowlers in the IPL. Bhogle has highlighted that the young batter is more than just a big hitter, noting his ability to judge length and respect good deliveries, and has emphasized the need to look beyond his age to fully appreciate his talent.

He posted a picture on Twitter exclaiming, “ India has found a gem and no one is taking away this Kohinoor now.”

However, fans expressed their disagreement with Bhogle’s remarks and said that, IPL shouldn't be a benchmark to solely judge a player’s performance.
