
Two giants of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are currently active in only the ODI format for India having retired from the other two formats. So, the spotlight goes to them whenever India plays an ODI match as fans get to see these superstars in action. On March 26, the fixtures for Team India’s home season 2026/27 was released. The home season promises to be exciting with plenty of matches till the 2027 World Cup which is set to be played in South Africa. Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have made it clear that they are aiming for the 2027 WC which makes the upcoming home ODI games important to assess their form.
West Indies tour of India - 3 ODIs
The home season will start with the West Indies touring India for three ODI matches. These matches will be played at Trivandrum, Guwahati and New Chandigarh. Fans can expect to witness Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in these fixtures which are set to begin in September 2026.

Sri Lanka tour of India -3 ODIs
The Sri Lankan side will come to India in December for a three match ODI series. The matches will be played in Delhi, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Delhi being the home ground for Virat Kohli there will be plenty of excitement around that fixture and Bengaluru will also host an ODI and the popularity Kohli has in Bengaluru is at a different level.

Zimbabwe tour of India - 3 ODIs
Early January in 2027 will see Zimbabwe touring India for a three match ODI series. These matches will be played in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Rohit Sharma will be welcomed at his home ground in Mumbai and Virat Kohli is also likely to play this series.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set to play 9 ODIs at home before the 2027 World Cup and fans can witness these two legends in these matches. Since the 2027 World Cup is in South Africa and if the duo decides to retire after that event, then these nine ODIs will be the last time they will be playing an ODI game in India.
