
On this day, April 11,2023: Rohit Sharma stars as Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals in a final over thriller. It was the 16th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi Capitals were batting first and had a good start with Warner and Shaw playing some good shots. Shaw was the first to be dismissed as he fell for 15 runs. David Warner fell for 57 runs from 47 balls and it was a tough outing for him as he could not accelerate.
Axar Patel smashed 54 runs of just 25 balls as Delhi Capitals finished with 172 at the end of the first innings. Jason Behrendorff and Chawla were pick of the bowlers for Mumbai Indians picking up two wickets each. It was a good score on that surface and at the halfway stage the game was evenly poised. Mumbai Indians started really well in the chase with Rohit Sharma and Ishan putting up a fifty run partnership at a good rate to put them right on top.

Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 31 but Tilak Varma joined in Rohit Sharma as the duo stitched a crucial partnership. Rohit Sharma smashed 65 runs off 45 balls to put Mumbai Indians right on top in the chase. Delhi Capitals made a slight comeback into the game after picking up the wicket of Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians needed 20 runs off the last two overs. Nortje delivered a terrific last over and Mumbai Indians needed 2 runs off the last ball and Tim David got a couple to take Mumbai home in the final ball of the game.
