On this day, April 18, 2022: Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in a thriller as Cameron Green shines. It was the 25th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians were batting first and started well with the openers putting up a 41 run partnership. Rohit Sharma was the first to get dismissed for 28 as SRH struck back. Cameron Green joined Ishan Kishan and the duo stitched a valuable partnership.

Mumbai Indians lost the wickets of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession as Sunrisers Hyderabad came back into the game. Cameron Green continued to play his shots and went past his half century. Tilak Varma played an excellent cameo of 37 runs from just 17 balls which included four sixes and helped Mumbai Indians regain the momentum.

Cameron Green finished with an unbeaten 64 on a tricky surface to help Mumbai Indians post a total of 192/5 at the end of the first innings. It was an above par total and a terrific knock from Cameron Green which put Mumbai Indians on top at the half way stage of the game. Chasing the target, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost a few quick wickets as Brook and Rahul Tripathi fell cheaply.

Mayank Agarwal along with Aiden Markram consolidated things for SRH as they rebuilt with a good partnership. The required rate was going up and both batters lost their wickets in an attempt to accelerate. Heinrich Klassen 36 runs from just 16 balls to bring SRH right back in the game but did not get much support from others. Sunrisers Hyderabad ended with 178 on the board at the end of the innings and lost the match by 14 runs. Mumbai Indians bowlers were excellent and Cameron Green also picked up a wicket. He was the player of the match for his terrific all-round performance.
