On this day, April 10, 2026: Lucknow Super Giants beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 1 wicket in a high scoring thriller. It was the 15th match of IPL 2023 played between Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB were batting first and put up an excellent opening partnership. Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis put up a 96 run partnership for the opening wicket with both batters going past their half centuries. The run rate was good as RCB had a very positive start to the game.

Virat Kohli was the first to depart for 61 runs off 44 balls as RCB lost their first wicket with 96 runs on the board. Glenn Maxwell came in and counter-attacked straight away. He stitched a partnership of more than 100 runs with Faf Du Plessis for the second wicket. Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended the first innings with a massive score of 212/2. Faf Du Plessis remained unbeaten on 79 while Maxwell scored 59 runs off just 29 balls. His knock included 6 sixes and three fours and RCB were right on top at the halfway stage 

Lucknow Super Giants lost three wickets with just 23 runs on the board with Mayers departing for a duck while Hooda and Krunal also fell cheaply. Marcus Stoinis and KL Rahul put up a good partnership to bring LSG back in the game but both batters lost their wickets in quick time as LSG were 105/5 and needed more than 100 runs in the remaining nine overs. 

Nicholas Pooran played a blinder as he smashed 62 runs from just 19 balls to bring LSG right back in the game. It was a stunning knock from the left hander as he smashed 7 sixes. Royal Challengers Bengaluru struck back by picking up a few wickets and there was more drama as Harshal Patel missed a Mankad attempt in the final ball and it was called a dead ball. LSG won the match by 1 wicket in the final ball of the game as they ran a bye after a fumble from DK. It was a high scoring thriller and LSG came out on top.
