
On this day, March 24, 2025: Ashutosh Sharma blinder helps DC beat LSG in a high scoring thriller. It was the fourth match of the 2025 season of the IPL with Lucknow Super Giants taking on Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Lucknow Super Giants were batting first and got off to a quick start with Markram and Marsh providing early impetus to the innings. LSG lost their first wicket with 46 runs on the board. Nicholas Pooran joined Marsh and the duo stitched up a big partnership.
Mitch Marsh and Nicholas Pooran both of them completed their half centuries as Lucknow Super Giants maintained a good tempo to the innings. Mitch Marsh was the next batter to be dismissed but he had already done the damage scoring 72 runs off just 36 balls. Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for 75 runs of 30 balls. Lucknow Super Giants got a good finish with Miller playing a cameo. LSG ended the first innings with 209 runs on the board. It was a very good score at the half way mark.
Chasing the target, Delhi Capitals lost two wickets in the first over and were in all sorts of trouble. Delhi Capitals lost their third wicket with just seven runs on the board and captain Axar Patel came in and played a few shots. The scoring rate was good but Delhi lost both Axar and Faf Du Plessis in quick time as Delhi were reduced to 65/5 in the seventh over. It looked an uphill task from there and the hopes were really low. However, Ashutosh Sharma had other plans as he joined with Vipraj Nigam and turned the table.
Ashutosh Sharma counter attacked and smashed a fifty while Vipraj Nigam played an excellent cameo of 39 runs of just 15 balls. There was drama as Delhi Capitals kept losing wicket. They were nine down in the final over and Ashutosh Sharma played a blinder to take Delhi Capitals over the line. Ashutosh Sharma ended with an unbeaten 66 as Delhi Capitals won the match by one wicket.
