
According to recent reports by Cricbuzz, the SRH skipper Pat Cummins will be undergoing a fitness test tomorrow, April 15, in Australia and if everything is fine he will fly to India on April 17 to join the team in their next match. The SRH captain has been sidelined for the first half of the tournament due to a lumbar stress injury. He initially arrived in India on 27 March but returned to Australia on 4 April for scheduled scans and rehabilitation overseen by Cricket Australia (CA).
Ishan Kishan has been leading SRH as stand-in captain in his absence, with Abhishek Sharma as vice-captain.If cleared, Cummins could potentially be available for SRH’s home match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 18 April. Beyond the IPL, Cummins is scheduled to lead Australia on a significant five-Test tour of India from January to March 2027 as part of a demanding 2026–27 international calendar.
