The head coach, Ricky Pointing, has broken the silence on the team’s fresh start after a devastating loss against RCB last year in Ahmedabad. The team looks forward to a fresh start ahead of their season opener against the Gujarat Titans in their home ground at Mullanpur. The match is scheduled on March 31 at the New International Stadium. The coach stated that it is a nil-nil for the team and they would not be taking anything from the last season.

He emphasised of a fresh mindset to start the campaign. The pitch at the stadium in Punjab is being called a batting-friendly pitch, and Pointing said that the management is still deciding on the combination they want to go for the first match.

According to Pointing, the Kings had a pretty good auction, where they have a backup for every role in the 25-player squad.

“We have got 25 players to pick from, with a nice balance of overseas players and Indian talent. First and foremost, we have to understand the conditions before we pick the team. He said.

The head coach emphasised on bringing growth for every player during the 2-month process.

He continued, “So hopefully before the end of the session tonight, we can have a really good look at the wicket that we’re going to use tomorrow, and then we can start thinking about different combinations and impact players and what we might want to do with our line-up.”
