Rajasthan Royals finished ninth last season and had a season to forget. They have since let go Sanju Samson and traded in Sam Curran and Jadeja. Kumar Sangakkara has taken over as head coach. They had a few things to cover coming into the auction and one of them was spin bowlers. They did very well in that aspect as they brought leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi at the auction for 7.2 Crore while also securing the services of left-arm wrist-spinner Vignesh Puthur. Yash Raj Punja is another spinner from Karnataka.
From the pace bowlers front, they picked Sushant Mishra and Kuldeep Sen. Adam Milne was another interesting pick as they already had Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger and Kwena Mphaka in the squad. Overall they could not get another reliable overseas batter and it was not a bad auction but they could have done better. They will be hoping these players do well in the upcoming season.
