Of all the captains in the Indian Premier League that have been respected and adored for quite some time, including the likes of the great Rohit Sharma, the iconic MS Dhoni and former RCB captain Virat Kohli, apparently here’s a recent name that seems to have gathered with a lot of respect and deservingly so. He is somebody who has been lauded for not just his leadership of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru outfit, but also for the very fact that he has been able to lead by an example, as how a captain should and must. It could be said that in a certain capacity and one marked with utter respect, the stocks of Rajat Patidar are rising and how!
And must be said that he truly deserves that.
After all, not only did one note that it was none other than Rajat Patidar who was at the leadership command of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru outfit when they first won the tournament but he was also the captain when they won yet another title, as seen most recently.
For the matter of fact, RCB have now won two back to back Indian Premier League titles having just recently lifted the 2026 crown having risen to absolute ascendency.
And it seems that Patidar, the dependable right hander from Madhya Pradesh, has carried forward the brilliant spark of form evident all throughout the most recent season of the famed Indian Premier League into the Madhya Pradesh League, the signature T20 franchise event of the prominent Indian state.
As a matter of factly, Rajat Patidar scored no fewer than 501 runs for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru side in the just completed edition of the IPL where he hit his runs at a commanding strike rate of 191. Now, playing in the noted Madhya Pradesh League, the attacking right hander has already struck notable knocks of 29 (that as off just 15 deliveries) before which he also hit a brilliant 65 off just 30 odd deliveries and prior to that- a domineering 46 off just 16 balls.
The tournament is still young and one of Indore’s finest contributions to the game is expected to produce more prominent and attacking knocks.
Combining with elegance with the relative ease at clearing the ropes, Rajat Patidar, it ought to be said, has truly risen in his craft as a dependable batter who can looked up to where it comes to scoring a ton of runs.
Moreover, he is someone who already has proved his mettle by scoring well over 5,000 runs despite not even playing even 100 first class games. Now, if that doesn’t signify his batting abilities, then one wonders, what ever will?
