It could be said that from the year 2011 until the completion of the 2025 season, the Chennai Super Kings played a brand of cricket that was both inspiring and entertaining in equal measure and fielded a very powerful line up of talents. It was also, rather interestingly, the period of time in which two of the IPL’s greatest cricketers, widely recognised as among the most talented from India, played for the famed franchise that is the CSK.

For nearly a decade and a half, both Ravindra Jadeja and Mahendra Singh Dhoni combined forces to represent some of the best cricket ever played by the famous franchise.

And of course, it’s hardly a surprise that besides being close teammates, Jadeja and Dhoni have also been great and amiable off the pitch with the two sharing immense regard and appreciation for each others’ skills. While on the one hand, Dhoni’s great leadership and commanding presence from behind the wickets electrified Chennai’s performances at games both at home and away, Jadeja’s supreme agility in the field and excellent late order hitting always kept the team in the hunt.

A wealth of respect

As a matter of fact, both Jadeja and Dhoni, who’ve been responsible for over 7,600 runs exclusively for the Chennai Super Kings outfit laud each others’ contributions towards strengthening and furthering the appeal of the outfit in the wider cricketing world.

And an avid and resplendent example of this was learnt just recently when Ravindra Jadeja touched upon the success, impact and sheer significance of his good friend and shall one say, comrade from the famous IPL unit MS Dhoni. The big question being, what did Jadeja have to say about the former captain of the Indian cricket team as also the CSK that’s garnering response from different cricketing corners.

Here’s what you ought to know

Recently the now Rajathan Royals based all rounder was asked something to which Dhoni was his response-

Jaddu bhai, if your life is on the line & you have to choose one batter to bat. Who will be that batter? [Rajasthan Royals]

Jadeja said "MS Dhoni"
