Rajasthan Royals are right on top against Chennai Super Kings in the third match of the IPL 2026. Under cloudy conditions, Rajasthan Royals opted to bowl first and the pacers Jofra Archer and Burger started really well picking up wickets to put CSK under immense pressure. Sanju Samson, the former RR captain did not have a great debut for CSK as he departed for just six runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad was another big wicket and Rajasthan bowlers continued it as they kept picking up wickets. Ravindra Jadeja came into the attack and picked up the wicket of Sarfaraz Khan and followed it up with another wicket of Dube in the same over. Shivam Dube started his innings with a six off the first ball of Jadeja. But the left arm spinner bounced back in style as he picked up the wicket of Dube a few balls later in the same over. Shivam Dube tried to clear long off but instead picked out the fielder and lost his wicket as Chennai Super Kings further went into deep trouble as they went to 57/6 at the end of eight overs.

Ravindra Jadeja who was traded from Chennai Super Kings to Rajasthan Royals ahead of the season has made an impact straight away. Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets in his first over while giving away only six runs. In his second ball, Jadeja picked up the wicket of Sarfaraz Khan and then went on to take the big wicket of Dube to completely put RR on top of the game.

Chennai Super Kings have had a very tough start as they lost both their openers cheaply. Sarfaraz Khan played a few shots but apart from that it has been very tough going. Ayush Mhatre, Short and Dube all of them were dismissed for single digit scores along with the openers. Chennai Super Kings are currently reeling at 70/6 and will need to have a very solid last ten to at least reach a competitive total.
