In a video clip posted by the LSG social media handle, Rishabh Pant was seen forcing his bowler Digvesh Rathi to end the feud with Nitish Rana as he was seen patting him and laughing with him, but Pant could sense the underlying tension. Pant, humourously, calls Rathi and ends the feud between them. Kuldeep Singh was seen joining them as they talked about the upcoming match. “Bas ho gya”, this was what the LSG skipper told his bowler and told him to leave the past differences ahead of the clash.

“The meet-up the internet ordered 😂”, the post read.

What is the Rana-Rathi controversy?

Digvesh Rathi and Nitish Rana are two exceptional talents of the Delhi state team. Both Delhi boys ended in a heated altercation during a DPL match earlier in 2025. Playing for West Delhi Lions (Rana) against South Delhi Superstarz (Rathi), the tension began when Rathi stopped during his run-up. Rana responded by backing away from the crease on the next ball. After Rana hit a six and mimicked Rathi’s signature celebration, a verbal argument erupted. Rana went on to score a match-winning knock of 134*off 55 balls, leading his team to victory. Both players were fined, with Rathi docked 80% and Rana 50% of their match fees.

This is not the first time Rathi has been involved in a heated altercation, as he had a similar encounter with Abhishek Sharma in the 2025 IPL, where the Hyderabad player got offended by Rathi’s celebration after taking his wicket. Sharma angrily marched towards him, but both players were then cooled down by the match referee.

Rathi was in controversy during the whole 2025 IPL tournament, because of both his bowling action, which was referred to as chukcing by several pundits and his wicket-taking celebration. Rathi was also fined several times during the tournament because his celebration was seen as an offence to the spirit of the game cricket is believed in.

It would be interesting to see if Rathi changes his celebration this year or keeps it the same.
