The Mumbai Indians have posted a hilarious video on their page of Rohit Sharma imitating the bowling action of the Kolkata Knight Riders Head Coach Abhishek Nayar in the nets. Much to the entertainment of the viewers, Rohit Sharma uprooted the middle stump and Nayar just laughed it off. Both the teams are gearing up for a fierce encounter in Kolkata and this would probably just lighten the situation for the heavyweights. This is not the first time Rohit Sharma has mimicked a bowling action and his comical precision is simply on point.

The playoff dream ended for the Mumbai Indians with their defeat in the game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Raipur. Their form has been wavering in the season but never did they look like they were in touch and there were rumours of internal disputes in the dressing room as well. Rohit Sharma was absent for majority of the season and that would have impacted negatively in their progress. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders will have plenty to fight for with their qualification in their line.

KKR remain firmly in playoff race; MI reportedly in search for new captain

The Indian Premier League is heading towards its final set of fixtures in the tournament and the excitement is just building up. The Mumbai Indians do not have a lot to fight for but they will be hunting for their next captaincy option among their existing stars. Hardik Pandya’s captaincy has been questioned by the experts and the fans and his absence in the last couple of games could just hint towards that direction.

Jasprit Bumrah is emerging as the frontrunner for the captaincy position as he has played for the side for over a decade and his experience is immense. He has led the Indian test side in England as well so to have a fast bowler as a captain wouldn’t be much of an issue. Tilak Varma will also be an option but they would find it difficult to ignore the seniority of Bumrah. It will be interesting to see if Hardik Pandya will be released from the squad considering the rumours surrounding them.

However, it will not be the same case for KKR as two wins out of their remaining two games could give them the playoff spot, considering the result of PBKS’ final match against LSG. It truly is a remarkable story for the men in purple and gold as they were struggling to get even a single victory in the initial phases and right now, they are in contention with a side who were the table toppers at the same phase. KKR’s qualification scenario seems to be possible at this stage and the fans will be in for a photofinish.
