Former Indian Captain, Rohit Sharma has once again captured hearts off the field after a video from Mumbai Airport went viral on social media. This incident unfolded as the Indian opener was returning from the recently wrapped ODI series against Afghanistan. As Rohit made his way toward the terminal, a fan approached, eager to snap a photo with him. However, his bodyguard quickly intervened, pushing the fan back and speaking sternly.

This caught Rohit’s attention right away. He paused, visibly displeased with how the fan was treated, and confronted the security personnel. It seemed he was instructing his bodyguard to ease up on the supporters. Moments later, Rohit lightened the mood by acknowledging the fan and allowing for a brief interaction. Reports indicate that he later took the bodyguard aside to calmly discuss how to handle such situations better. The clip has since gone viral, with fans applauding Rohit’s respectful demeanor and his genuine concern for those who support him.

This viral moment came on the heels of Rohit’s impressive performance in the ODI series against Afghanistan. The 39-year-old wrapped up the three-match series with scores of 16, 48, and 79. His standout performance was in the final ODI at Chepauk, where he scored 79 runs off 69 balls, hitting nine fours and three sixes. This innings not only helped India achieve a commanding 3-0 clean sweep but also added another milestone to Rohit’s already stellar ODI career.

In-form Rohit Sharma Eyes ODI Series in England

Rohit is set to make his next appearance during India’s ODI tour of England this July. The opener boasts an impressive track record in the country, holding the record for the most ODI centuries by a visiting player in England. He has notched up seven hundreds in just 27 innings, amassing 1,411 runs with an average of 64.13 and a strike rate of 94.20. His highest score in England is an unbeaten 137, achieved against the hosts in Nottingham back in 2018.

A significant portion of that success came during the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, where Rohit had a record-breaking run, scoring five centuries in a single tournament. He’s also the only visiting batter to hit ODI hundreds at seven different venues across the UK. India’s tour kicks off on July 14 at Edgbaston in Birmingham, with the second ODI taking place in Cardiff on July 16. The series wraps up at Lord’s in London on July 19, where Rohit will once again be in the limelight.
