Chennai Super Kings recently held a fun event with the fans called the Lion’s Press where fans were allowed to ask questions to current Chennai Super Kings players. It was an excellent initiative by the team to bring the fans closer to the team. A clip from that event has gone viral on social media. A young fan asked a question to Ruturaj Gaikwad and his answer to that has stolen eyeballs. The question asked was ‘’Did Sir MS Dhoni used to scold you, on the field or their players if they played badly?’’. Watch the video here.
He scolded Deepak Chahar only and he is his friend so he scolds him more 🤣🤣🤣 Man I miss Cherry&Mahi on field 🥹💛 pic.twitter.com/u8UBScBcQa

Ruturaj Gaikwad said ‘’No, No, No. He never scolded anyone. I think he only scolded Deepak Chahar back in, I think 2022 or 2023. He only scolded him, he was his best friend that’s why he scolded him’’. This answer immediately brought a smile to CSK head coach Fleiming and the rest of the room. This video has gone viral with fans missing Dhoni and Chahar on the field. Deepak Chahar is currently with the Mumbai Indians side for this season.
This incident between Chahar and Dhoni happened back in IPL 2019 where PBKS needed 39 runs in 12 balls, Dhoni handed the ball to Chahar, who bowled two back-to-back beamers at the start of the over and got to face the wrath of the CSK captain. Speaking about this incident Deepak Chahar had said “The match was tight as they needed 40-42 (39) in the last three overs. I bowled a slower one but twisted my ankle. I tried it again but once again it was a high full toss. I was thinking that 'I have bowled two waist high no balls and my chance won't come. My death over bowling career is finished'. He came to me and said 'You act smart. You know everything. Why are you bowling in this manner?' And I was looking down and thinking 'it is the end of my career'. But I gave away 5 runs in the remaining five balls and he gave me a hug after the match," said the CSK pacer.
The 2019 season was a very good one for Deepak Chahar who did very well for Chennai Super Kings in that edition. He has a good friendship with MS Dhoni and even in the recent IPL during the practice session ahead of the MI and CSK game, Deepak Chahar was spotted having a fun chat with MS Dhoni. When Chahar came to MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain replied with I can talk to you but first make sure the cameras which are behind you are taken out and they shared a laughter.
