There were two, not one semi final contests that were contested last Friday, July the 10, 2026 in the Wimbledon in England, which happens to be pretty much the biggest draw in the sporting theatre of tennis. And these were truly outstanding and wonderful contests that marked the true discipline, hunger and resilience of some of the most prized and gifted names in the sport. While on the one hand, we got to see the dangerous and legendary Novak Djokovic taking on Jannik Sinner, on the other hand there was Arthur Fery against Alexander Zverev!
And while the German professional tennis player, 29, managed to upstage the mega contest against the English talent, it was an epic contest on the other side as well in which Sinner totally dominated a great of the sport in the form of Djokovic. The 24-year-old absolutely devastatingly talented Italian got the better of a true master of the sport by dominating three back to back sets as Sinner won 6-4, 6-4, and 6-4 against the Serbian great to set up a mega final appearance at the Wimbledon.
But no spectacular sporting contest can ever be complete without someone truly spectacular himself in attendance. And this time around, a popular, highly loved and decorated sporting demigod was present at the scene of the action as part of an august gathering observing the mega clash! And must one say that this was a person witnessing the amazing Wimbledon contest- a once in a lifetime experience- not for the first time, ever!
Sachin Tendulkar, widely recognised as the best batter of the sport dubbed ‘the god of cricket’ was himself present to watch the big occasion and must it be said, that one of India’s much loved and famous sons truly enjoyed being there.
His carefully chosen and truly passionate words explaining the great sporting action avidly brought to life on social media! Following the semi finals action at the Wimbledon, the only man with 100 centuries in international cricket, happened to write the following on his X account:
“ Wimbledon, you never disappoint! What a privilege to witness two brilliant semifinals today. The fight and belief shown by Fery was wonderful to watch, while Zverev’s big serve played a crucial role in a hard-fought win. And then came Jannik Sinner’s masterclass. The way he combined power with control across every shot was remarkable. Novak competed till the very end, but Jannik was at his absolute best today. Days like these are why we love sport. Looking forward to more magic on Centre Court!”
