The Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharshan was retired hurt after being hit on the elbow off the delivery of Kartik Tyagi. The pacer bowled a quick delivery at a good length and Sai Sudharshan was a bit too early into the shot. He crouched a bit and tried to play it off quickly and it hit his left elbow. He somehow managed to complete the single but he was in immense pain and after reaching the other end, he tumbled and immediately removed his gloves. The physio immediately ran onto the pitch and then Sai Sudharshan walked off the pitch, being declared retired hurt.
Sai Sudharshan was in good touch and he was probably making the most out of the powerplay more than his partner at the end. He was able to find the boundary with ease and his shot-making skills were good. Sai Sudharshan was able to score 23 off 13 balls, scoring 4 fours and a six, striking at 176.92. The loss greatly affected the powerplay scoring for the home side as Nishant Sindhu wasn’t able to capitalize on the powerplay.

Shubman Gill- Jos Buttler partnership puts GT in solid position against KKR
The Kolkata Knight Riders did a great job in setting up a total of 247 after the 20 overs and it was some monstrous batting on display throughout the 20 overs. The wrath of Finn Allen was beyond question as he simply obliterated the GT bowling attack, scoring 93 off just 35 balls and he scored 10 sixes in his innings. Then the innings was carried on by Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green as they put up an excellent partnership of 108 runs. It was Raghuvanshi’s second consecutive fifty and his innovation was there to see. KKR would be confident with the total they have on board and the rest will be up to their bowling attack.
During the run chase, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan were off to a fine start in the powerplay but the early loss of Sudharshan would impact their scoring rate significantly. The GT skipper and Jos Buttler have taken responsibility for the chase and they have carried on with authority. This partnership could be the game defining partnership for both teams as GT would need them to carry on and KKR will be confident about securing the game with breaking the partnership. It will be an interesting match as GT have a lot at stake to secure the spot at the top 2 whereas the other teams in the tournament will have their hopes pinned on KKR.
