Sanju Samson, it could be said, played a rather interesting knock yet again just a few hours ago against Zimbabwe, which lest we forget, was a must-win game for India (given their commencement of the Super 8 campaign wasn’t a good one versus the Proteas). Now there are clearly two ways of gauging the knock played by Samson. His quick fire 24 that came off just 15 could be viewed as just the key ingredient India needed up the order to take the team off to a good and flying start. And then there could be a few among us who could say that he wasn’t able to convert a fluent start into a big knock (which his fans may note is something he desperately needs to safeguard his career).

Having said that, in the aftermath of the contest, Sanju Samson was asked by Sanjana Ganesan from the premier sports broadcaster about how he took stock of the game situation and what he felt about the entire opening the innings situation with Abhishek Sharma.

To this, the much loved and well liked Sanju Samson replied the following

“It was a very simple game plan. Watch the ball, get the bat swing and hit it,” is how Sanju summed up his simple yet memorable experience of batting alongside Abhishek.

He would further add, “I really enjoyed batting with him and I think we both compliment our skills,” Sanju took further note.

“Very happy that we could give India a very good start today,” a satisfied and visibly content Samson noted further.

His early inning blitz of 24 did really give India the added impetus up the order and perhaps allowed Abhishek Sharma to score freely as well.

It will be brilliant to see the top 3- Samson, Abhishek and Ishan starring once again in hopefully yet another winning cause for the all important virtual quarter final against the West Indies this comon Sunday.

Till then, block your dates and mark your calendars for a super Sunday.
