Sanju Samson has scored his second century of the season and what a time to bring it. The Chennai Super Kings were falling apart quite quickly despite the flow of runs. The Mumbai Indians bowlers simply did not have an answer to the class of Sanju Samson and he has conquered the Wankhede in style. The Chennai Super Kings have reached a total of 207 after the 20 overs and they will be confident that they have got enough on the board. Jamie Overton and Kartik Sharma did land a couple of blows at the end and they provided the required support at the back end of the innings. Akeal Hosein carried out his role perfectly well as he rotated the strike and took some crucial singles to give Samson the strike.
The Mumbai Indians were able to pick some wickets but they simply couldnβt establish control over the game. Hardik Pandya and his men were well aware that the key to their success would be the wicket of Sanju Samson and they couldnβt dismiss him. Allah Ghazanfar bowled a brilliant spell as he was the best bowler on the field as he picked up 2 wickets and gave away just 25 runs in his spell. The Mumbai Indians will be looking to chase the target down but it wouldnβt be such an easy task.

Samsonβs 101 powers CSK to 207 as Mumbai Indians face tough chase at Wankhede
The Chennai Super Kings were under pressure earlier on with the wickets tumbling along with the moving scoreboard. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sarfaraz Khan were able to just kick off their innings with some good boundaries but the Mumbai bowling proved to be too good for them. Sanju Samson looked in good touch right from the beginning but he looked like he wanted somebody at the other end to support him as well. Samson was under pressure with his previous performances as he had scored just the one century in the season to show for.
The most iconic shot for the day was the scoop shot that Sanju Samson had played off Bumrah. That shot was as cheeky as it could get as it was against the worldβs best bowler that Samson premeditated the scoop shot and executed it well to get the 4 runs. Sanju Samson scored a brilliant innings of 101 off 54 balls, including 10 fours and 6 sixes. His strike rate was above 185 and he simply carried the Chennai Super Kings batting unit in the entire innings. It didnβt look like he would reach the landmark at the start of the 19th over as he had to smash some big boundaries to reach his century. He ended up scoring 16 runs off the last over of Krish Bhagat to get to his century off just 54 balls.
The Chennai Super Kings will be happy with the total of 208 as they have a good quality bowling attack to defend it. The Mumbai Indians will be hungry to chase the total down as they do have a good chance as well with the current form of Tilak Varma.
