Going into the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, one Indian player who will be under immense pressure over his place in the playing XI is Sanju Samson. The wicketkeeper-batter got to play all of the five T20Is against New Zealand, but he failed to impress. On the other hand, the second wicketkeeper-batter in the pack of 15 members of the squad of India, Ishan Kishan, scored the 2nd most runs in the series with a century in the last match. This created pressure on selectors now; who will they choose in the playing XI, in-form Kishan or Sanju? Following Sanju Samson’s low performance in the 5th T20I, his wife Charulatha Remesh shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story, leaving fans confused about whether it was emotional support or a hidden message.
“Some Times Have to Be Accepted” Sanju Samson’s Wife Shares Cryptic Message
After the 5th T20I of the New Tour of India 2026 at Thiruvananthapuram on 31st January, where Sanju Samson got out on a single digit, on just 6 runs off 6 balls, continuing his poor form, his wife Charulatha Remesh shared a cryptic post on Instagram on Sunday, saying,
“When all is done & answers fade… JUST BOW YOUR HEAD AND LET LIFE BE! Because some time has to be accepted, not explained.”
This Instagram story confuses the fans, whether it's emotional support or a hidden message.

The India vs New Zealand five-match T20I series was so crucial for Sanju Samson to cement his place in the playing XI going into the ICC T20I World Cup 2026 starting from 7th February. In this series, Sanju Samson managed to score only 46 runs in 5 matches with an average of 9.20.
On the other hand, the second wicketkeeper of India, Ishan Kishan, scored 215 runs in 4 matches with an average of 53.75 and an amazing strike rate of 231.18. Also, he is the second-highest run scorer of the series. So after this performance, it's pretty hard for the captain and coach to put him out of the playing XI once Tilak Varma comes back from injury.
At this stage, the Indian team’s batting order looks settled and strong, with most players contributing consistently. However, Sanju Samson is the only batter struggling for form, which increases the chances of India opting for the in-form Ishan Kishan over him at the T20 World Cup 2026.
Now we will see India in action on 7 February, going against the USA in the Group Stage game of the ICC T20I World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, where we will get the answer to the question “Sanju or Ishan?”
