Shoaib Akhtar Reveals Real Reason Behind Pakistan's Loss Against India In T20 World Cup

A fast bowling legend from Pakistan has revealed the exact reason behind the Pakistan defeat against India in the Group Stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo on 15 February.

On Tapmad, Shoaib Akhtar said, “Unfortunately, we are just losing to India because we are getting bogged down. There is no other reason. Our team selection is not correct. I do not even understand what we are doing. Otherwise, we are good enough to beat any team right now."

He raises massive questions on Pakistan’s team selection and mindset. In simple terms, Shoaib said, the Pakistan cricket team is struggling to score runs quickly; batsmen are unable to rotate strikes or hit boundaries, and because of that pressure, they are falling behind against India.

India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs on 15 February at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in a group stage match.

Batting first, India put a total of 175 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Ishan Kishan played an outstanding inning of 77 runs off just 40 balls. Suryakumar scored 32, while Shivam Dube smashed 27 off 17 balls.

Indian bowlers dominated the Pakistani batters from the very start of the second inning, bowling out Pakistan for just 114 runs. Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets each. Ishan Kishan was named player of the match for his amazing knock.
