Sonal Dinusha and Lahiru Kumara had their share of fun in Sri Lanka’s latest comeback win against India. On Thursday, the Sri Lankan team was still batting for survival after a follow-on post getting all out for just 290 runs in the first innings. A brilliant ninth-wicket stand between Dinusha and Kumara frustrated the visitors. The pair built a resilient partnership of 47 runs in 169 balls as the chase was being made. Kumara was at the crease for 122 minutes before he was out to Ravindra Jadeja.
“Look at their facial expressions, Lahiru!” Dinusha was heard telling Kumara in Sinhala as they noticed the Indian players’ growing frustration. Kumara replied, “We don't get to see things like this every day. Not a single one of them is even speaking, mate.” The exchange captured the confidence and humour that had crept into Sri Lanka’s camp as they edged closer to safety. After Kumara’s dismissal, Dinusha remained unbeaten and guided Sri Lanka to 429/9, securing a dramatic draw. He finished with an unbeaten 133 in the second innings after also making 103 in the first, becoming only the third batter to score twin centuries in a Test after following on.

India miss victory as Sri Lanka produce remarkable fightback in second Test match Colombo ending the innings in draw
The second Test match between India and Sri Lanka ended in a draw in Colombo. The match was drawn after India posted a big score of 503/9 in the first innings and forced Sri Lanka to follow on after they were all out for 290 runs. Despite the odds, Sri Lanka put up an incredible fightback after the follow-on which eventually ended up as a draw.
The first inning saw India batting first after they won the toss and posted a huge total of 503 for 9. Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel played important knocks of 117 and unbeaten 115, respectively. Sri Lanka replied with 290 all out after the follow on as they posted 213 in the follow on. The decision of giving the hosts’ a follow-on after securing a lead of 213 runs in the first innings, costed the Indian Test team. The Lankan lineup managed to take the game to the last day and posted 439 all out giving India barely any time to start the second innings, eventually ending the match without any result.
