After the heated on-field exchange between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and the Sri Lankan players in the 4th Match of the Tri Nation A series, some of the Sri Lankan players have approached the teenager. Some of the players that knew Sooryavanshi through IPL interactions expressed their regret due to the on-field tensions that took place in Dambulla.
It was a very unsportsmanlike behaviour that was on display from both the teams as both the teams pushed each other as well. There still remains a lack of clarity regarding who was at fault but at such pressure moments it was important that both the players kept their cool and a level of professionalism.
There were already a couple of argumentative moments between Tilak Varma and the umpire in the middle and Sooryavanshi’s frustration was the last thing that had to happen. The teenager was visibly disappointed that he scored just 5 runs in the Super Over and while walking past the hosts, he appeared to have made contact with one of them.
Sooryavanshi didn’t like it one bit as he immediately turned around to have a word and he was taken away by Niroshan Dickwella. Things seemed to have just slipped out of control in the decorum of the game with some provocative physical gestures.

Must-win clash awaits India A after Sri Lanka A setback
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hasn’t been able to recreate his IPL magic in this tournament as he hasn’t found the best of timings. The batter's frustration would have come as a result of the lack of runs he had scored in the tournament and even in a much-needed situation like the Super Over, he failed to deliver.
He crossed the 30-run mark just once in the three innings that he played and by his standards, it isn’t up to the mark. He did get a powerful start in the game against Afghanistan A as he scored 44 runs but once again he wasn’t able to convert the start he got. The Indian batter will be looking to make amends for his poor form in the coming must-win game against Afghanistan A.
India A weren’t exactly on top of their game in the match against Sri Lanka A as their batting unit was a bit sloppy. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the best of the lot in the top-order as he scored 37 runs but none of the other batters were able to contribute. The Men in Blue were saved by a heroic partnership between Vipraj Nigam and Suryansh Shegde, pushing India’s total to 265.
In the second innings of the game, India’s bowlers stepped up their game with Vipraj Nigam bowling a fine set of 10 overs as he picked up a wicket and conceded just 36 runs. Ayush Badoni, Arshad Khan and Anukul Roy were also amongst the wickets and their economical bowling tightened their grip over the Sri Lankan bowling unit. It was an even game throughout but the Super Over was dominated by the Sri Lankans with both bat and ball.
India A will be preparing themselves for a nail-biting clash against Afghanistan A in their next encounter. They need a win to keep their hopes alive considering their recent defeat and the heated exchange between the hosts in the previous game.
