Trinbago Knight Riders begin CPL 2026 title defence with DLS victory
Defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders began their Caribbean Premier League 2026 campaign with a 19-run DLS victory over St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in a rain-affected contest at Arnos Vale Ground. The Knight Riders first produced an excellent bowling performance to restrict the Patriots to 109/9 in 20 overs, with Sunil Narine leading the attack with extraordinary figures of 3/7 from four overs. Narine's spell included 21 dot balls out of 24 deliveries, putting enormous pressure on the Patriots' batting lineup. Kevin Wickham top-scored for the Patriots with 38, while Terrance Hinds also claimed three wickets for TKR.
Chasing 110, TKR reached 94/2 in 15 overs before rain brought the match to an early conclusion.
