Indian women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur who took India Women to their first-ever World Cup title in 2025, has predicted the outcomes for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup which will be held next year in February in India and Sri Lanka. Harmanpreet Kaur predicted India as the winners and also claimed Suryakumar Yadav as the highest scorer in the tournament. Suryakumar Yadav is averaging less than 20 and striking at less than 125 in 2025 but she feels Suryakumar Yadav’s bat would do much of the talking, and he would emerge as the highest run-scorer for India in the ICC event.
Under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership, India have lost just 6 T20I games since World Cup 2024 and has not lost a single series since then. India are ranked the no. 1-ranked T20I team in the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings and will be entering the upcoming World Cup as the defending champions. Moreover, they are also the official hosts of the competition which gives added advantage.
She also predicted the likes of Australia, South Africa, and England to be the other three semi-finalists alongside India. Harmanpreet predicted the Player of the Tournament from India’s victorious campaign in 2024 to win it once again. Jasprit Bumrah he was the second highest, yet a definite match-winner, and was named the Player of the tournament.
Bumrah recently got to his 100th T20I wicket, becoming the second Indian bowler to do so and the first to have claimed 100+ wickets across all three formats of international cricket.
