ICC T20 World Cup 2026 winning captain Suryakumar Yadav spilled beans on his picture with MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. On the eve of the IPL 2026 El-Clasico between CSK and MI at Chepauk, SKY posted a picture that broke the internet. In the picture, he posed with Dhoni and Sharma, the only two captains who led India to T20 World Cups before him in 2007 and 2024, respectively. Yadav captioned the picture, “Group DP mil gaya. Bas group name suggest karo. (Found the group icon, suggest a group name.)”
Since having uploaded, the picture garnered 2.3 million likes and 31.7 k comments. Speaking about the same, the MI batter said, “For me it was a dream come true, because when I thought, when will I play cricket for India, when will I win matches, but you never think that you will get an opportunity to lead India. But I got that opportunity to lead India, by God’s grace and blessings. We won that tournament in India itself, in Ahmedabad, at Narendra Modi Stadium, where we could not win in 2023. So I think that memory will always stay with me - it was a very precious moment for me, and I am sure for all of India and Indians across the world it was a special moment.”
He added, “Then after that, when we were playing the first game against Chennai at Wankhede, it came to my mind that if this picture could happen - that the one who first won the T20 World Cup for India, and the one who won in 2024, both captains are there, and if we win in 2026 and I am also there - so if we can create that photo, I think it will be a special memory for me for a lifetime and obviously for everyone. So I thought when I came here to Chennai that there is a possibility, I got that one percent chance, so I first went and asked Rohit bhai, then he said okay, then I asked Mahi bhai, and it felt good to ask them, both said yes, so I did not wait for any moment - I said let’s quickly take that photo. So it’s a very very special moment.”
