Suryakumar Yadav's maiden T20I century at Trent Bridge turns four

Suryakumar Yadav’s masterpiece at Trent Bridge remains one of the most astonishing solo counter-attacks in T20 international cricket history. Walking out to the crease with India in deep trouble at a precarious 31/3 while chasing a mountainous target of 216, Yadav single-handedly dragged his team back into the contest. He launched a spectacular 360-degree assault on the English bowling attack, hammering a sensational 117 runs off just 55 deliveries. His innings was a masterclass in modern batting, illuminated by 14 crisp boundaries and 6 towering sixes. The signature moment of the night was an outrageous, sliced six off a Chris Jordan yorker over deep point, which left spectators and commentators entirely spellbound.

The reaction to this modern-day classic was a mix of awe, disbelief, and heartbreak. While India fell agonisingly short by 17 runs after his dismissal in the 19th over, the cricket fraternity united in absolute praise. Former players and pundits labeled it one of the finest T20I hundreds ever witnessed, marvelling at his unmatched ability to find gaps in impossible areas.
