The only notable innings in this season came against the Delhi Capitals when he scored a valiant half-century. Other than that he has crossed the 30-run mark just twice and this is not what the fans expected of the Indian great. He was instrumental in their resurgence in the previous season as he amassed 717 runs from just 16 innings, along with 5 half-centuries. He has been one of the main reasons why the Mumbai Indians batting unit hasn’t been able to fire and the fans seem to be done complaining.

We could potentially be witnessing the end of the run for Suryakumar Yadav as he has already achieved much in world cricket and IPL as both player and captain. Mumbai Indians could maybe look beyond Suryakumar Yadav and India is already looking at different captaincy options in the T20 format.
