New Zealand dominated South Africa in the first semi-final of the 2026 WT20. It was total dominance by New Zealand as they are right on top. South Africa were put into bat first and could score only 169/8 at the end of the first innings. It was a below par total and New Zealand wreaked havoc with the bat in the power play. New Zealand smashed 84/0 in the first six overs as New Zealand were off to a flier and almost finished the game inside the power-play. Finn Allen and Tim Seifert were the star of the show as both batters matched each other for shot to shot.
Finn Allen especially was brutal as he smashed Corbin Bosch for 22 runs in a single over. Finn Allen smashed 4 fours and a six in the same over as New Zealand were off to a flier. It was brutal dominance by the right hander and he smashed Corbin Bosch all around the ground. Watch the video here.

New Zealand were 62/0 at the end of five overs and Corbin Bosch was introduced into the attack. Finn Allen welcomed him with a six first ball as he pumped it over backward point for six. The next ball he smashed a four towards mid wicket as Bosch was under the pump. It did not stop there as he got a streaky boundary off the edge in the third ball. The fourth ball was over-pitched by Bosch and it was drilled down the ground by Allen and he smashed another boundary over short third man as the over went from bad to worse for South Africa. Bosch ended the over with a dot but the damage was already done.
Finn Allen smashed a 19 ball half century and Seifert also notched up a half century as New Zealand put up more than 100 run partnership for the opening wicket and New Zealand are right on top. It was a spectacular effort by both the batters. New Zealand with a win here will book their spot for the Final on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium against either England or India.
