Team India is reportedly unhappy with the accommodation facilities being offered to the athletes at the Asian Games 2026. According to reports, the full member cricket boards have called for their representatives to visit Japan to assess the facilities that are being provided to the players. Per pictures and visuals doing rounds on social media, boards have raised concerns on the facilities, especially on the size of the rooms allocated to the players. The rooms are reportedly too small for two players to comfortably accommodate them.

“It is a genuine problem, since the rooms are very tiny. If one player opens a kitbag, there won’t be much space left to stand. We are trying to figure out a solution to this problem,” a source said on the matter. According to India Today, the representatives would send feedback to their respective boards after which a final call would be taken on whether the facilities meet the required standards for the cricketers.

India Expected to Send Team B to Participate in Asian Games: Reports

As per reports, a board member has warned that if the facilities were not up to the required standards, the Indian board could send team B instead of its full-strength team. “BCCI and ACC are not happy with the facilities and arrangements in Japan, and the board will send an observer there,” a source told PTI. “The observer will submit its report to us, and if arrangements are not up to the mark, we could consider sending a B team there," it added.

Notably, the Asian Games 2026 are set to undergo action on September 19, and it is the first time since the 2023 season that cricket is returning to the tournament. The men’s games would begin on September 24, while women’s games would start on September 17. All games would be played at the Korogi Sports Park in the city of Nisshin.
