1. No handshake controversy during IND vs PAK matches

One of the most talked about controversies in the Asia Cup 2025 was the rivalry between India and Pakistan. After a war-like situation between both the countries earlier in the year, both India and Pakistan were set to face each other in the group stage match of Asia Cup 2025. However, there were mixed reactions from the fans as some of them were against the IND vs PAK match while some seeing it just as a sport. However, when both the teams met on the field, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav didn’t shake hands. Pakistani skipper Salman Ali Agha and players from both teams also didn’t shake hands after the match. This happened in all three matches India and Pakistan played against each other in the tournament.

When India and Pakistan met for the second time in the Super 4s of Asia Cup 2025, it was filled with several controversies. During Pakistan’s innings, opening batter Sahibzada Farhan completed his fifty and did a ‘gun firing’ celebration which ignited a controversy among fans. Not only this, Haris Rauf went far ahead during India’s innings. While standing near the boundary line, the fans teased Rauf with 'Kohli, Kohli' chants. Looking frustrated, Rauf did a plane crash gesture with his hands and also did a 6-0 celebration with his fingers.

3. India didn’t collect trophy from Mohsin Naqvi

The controversies didn’t end after the end of the Asia Cup 2025 as we saw a lot of drama during the post-match presentation of the final. After defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the title clash, the Indian team denied to collect the trophy from Chairman of Asian Cricket Council, Mohsin Naqvi, who is also President of Pakistan Cricket Board. After that, Naqvi left the stage with the trophy and the Indian team had to leave the ground without the trophy despite winning the tournament.
