Former New Zealand pacer Trent Boult bowled one of the best balls of The Hundred by delivering a sensational yorker to dismiss Jonny Bairstow before capping it off with a cheeky send-off. The left-arm pacer combined skill with swagger, leaving fans buzzing over the fiery exchange. The dismissal came when Boult bowled a pinpoint yorker that crashed into Bairstow's stumps, giving the English batter no time to respond. Andy Flower and Dinesh Karthik’s London Spirit eliminated from the Hundred 2026
London Spirit became the first team to be eliminated from The Hundred after a four-wicket defeat by MI London in front of a record crowd at Lord's. Chasing 161, MI London needed a stiff task needing 70 off 37 balls but Sam Curran's 33 and a quickfire 32 off 16 from Sikandar Raza put them ahead in the game. Zimbabwe all-rounder Raza was making his first appearance of the campaign having replaced Rashid Khan, and smacked four sixes as MI London cruised to a win and moved to the second spot in the points table.
There were high expectations from London Spirit before the season began, with Andy Flower as head coach and Dinesh Karthik along with Mo Bobat part of the management group. This was the same leadership group that guided Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the title in the previous two editions. Their arrival at the Hundred franchise generated plenty of hype, but things did not go according to plan. London Spirit managed to win just one of their six matches and were eventually eliminated from the tournament. They are seventh in the points table and have two more matches which they will be playing for pride and look to finish the season on a positive note.
