Trinbago Knight Riders have retired the legendary Dwayne Bravo’s jersey number 47. He becomes the first-ever player in history of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) to be honored this way. Bravo is the most successful T20 campaigner in the franchise’s rich history, having registered five CPL titles as a player (2015, 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2025). Bravo captained the Knight Riders to two successive CPL titles in 2017 and 2018 and played a special role in leading St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to finish as the runners-up in 2021. The flamboyant all-rounder is still associated with the Knight Riders as its head coach, having laid down his boots this year after the 2025 season.
At the ceremony before TKR’s game against Jamaica Kingsmen in Port of Spain, CEO Venky Mysore praised Bravo’s influence. “Dwayne Bravo's contribution to the Knight Riders and to the CPL is impossible to measure,” Mysore said. “Retiring No. 47 is our way of ensuring that his legacy will forever be a part of this franchise. There could be no more fitting player to become the first in CPL history to receive this honour.” Bravo’s CPL record underlines his impact for the Knight Riders. He played 107 matches and took 129 wickets, becoming tournament’s leading wicket-taker and later continuing his journey with TKR as coach.
