Vaibhav Sooryavanshi received his first senior team call-up for the series against Ireland and he was spotted in his first training session with the squad ahead of tomorrow’s game. The 15-year-old’s growth into the senior squad has been celebrated by the fans and the experts just can’t wait to see him get into action. He has been in tremendous form in recent times as he scored a sensational 94 off just 29 balls, striking at 324. Sooryavanshi’s explosive batting in the 50-over format is a testament to the kind of power he has and the talent that he has for the big stage.
The Bihar sensation could possibly make his international debut for the Indian senior side in the first game of the series against Ireland tomorrow. The Indian side will be under a huge tactical confusion as their T20I side has been in fine form and to fit in Sooryavanshi could be a huge task. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson have been the stalwarts at the top of the order for India and it could be almost impossible to replace one of them. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi would love to get an opportunity to get into action but his patience could be tested considering the form of the Indian side in the format.
India's in-form top order could create selection headaches
The Rajasthan Royals batter has been in fine form over the last couple of months and he made his mark in the IPL by bagging almost every award in the tournament for batters. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been one of the best batters in the league and his power-hitting has been rated highly by the experts. The experts had mixed opinions in giving a chance for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the senior Indian side and the fans were happy to see his name included in the side.
The Indian side was crowned the world champions earlier this season by winning the 2026 ICC T20I World Cup and that makes it difficult for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to break into the Indian squad. Sanju Samson has been in exceptional form for the country right from the World Cup and he has been able to carry it forward in the IPL as well. Abhishek Sharma had a dip in form in the world cup but he was able to rediscover his batting form in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The other possibility could be Samson walking in to bat at number 3 but that would mean Ishan Kishan would start on the bench. Sooryavanshi would have to wait for some more time for his chance to play for the Indian senior men’s side but India could hand him his first cap in the second game of the series. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi would be eager to get out there and cement his spot in the Indian squad.
India will be the obvious favourites to win the series with the kind of power they have in their batting unit and the bowling unit. Shreyas Iyer will be leading the Indian T20I side for the first time in his career and he will be making his comeback into the side after a long gap. The fans would be highly anticipating the action from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with the bat and they would be excited to see him play
