Virat Kohli is set to play for Delhi while Rohit Sharma is also expected to represent Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy starting December 24. This comes after the BCCI mandated that contracted cricketers must participate in domestic cricket unless they are injured or on national duty.

DDCA has officially confirmed that Virat Kohli will be playing the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025. DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma said “He will definitely play a few games, but not sure about the entire tournament”

Delhi will be playing seven group-stage matches with the last of them on January 8. Kohli and Rohit are currently representing India in three match ODI series against South Africa which ends on December 6. They will have a break after this series till the start of Vijay Hazare tournament and they are expected to feature in a couple of matches before India’s three-match ODI series against New Zealand from January 11 to 18, 2026. Delhi will be playing their last group stage on January 8 which is three days before the start of New Zealand series so it is unclear how many matches Virat Kohli will be available but it is highly likely that he is set to feature in atleast two matches, if not more.
